The Kittiwakes nest is often positioned high up on a rocky ledge or cliff face, above the sea and composed of seaweed and vegetation cemented together and lined with dry grass. Usually two to three eggs are laid which have a deep but background colour over blotched and spotted with grey, purple and brownish markings. The patterning tends to be towards the blunt end and sometimes, as in this example, takes on a ringed appearance. A beautiful subtle blend of beige and blues results in a stunning gulls egg. The Kittiwake egg is part of a set of 7 individual specimens which can be framed singularly or in a multi window mount.
