A very large platform of sticks, turf and branches placed at the top of a tree, and lined with grass is the favoured site for the osprey. The eggs, usually 2-3 in number, are handsomely marked, bold and rounded.  A cream or bluish white ground is usually heavily blotched within reddish-brown, purple and claret colouring. The markings tend to be most evident at the larger end. Some examples display lavenders and greys interspersed between the rust red blotches, combining their colours in a wonderful smooth transition. The Osprey egg is part of a set of 7 individual specimens which can be framed singularly or in a multi window mount.
