Another great day surrounded by the wonderful world of Natural History!! BBC – The One Show have filmed a short piece re: a large cased collection being installed at The Booth Museum, Brighton. Chris Packham was kind enough to spend time interviewing me at work in the studio. He even tried his hand at painting a replica Song Thrush’s egg – he did really well a strong 8/10 – I think Chris soon learned that applying the spots in a random pattern was difficult as the brain tends to want to add and fill in the gaps to keep everything uniform! – These are the tricks of nature as any egg with a well balanced arrangement can be spotted a mile off! Well done Chris – I know you treasure that ST egg and have kept it ever since. The short film can be viewed on BBC catchup – The One Show – Chris Packham eggs. It was fantastic to see the huge Case of eggs I had worked on going up in position for all visitors to The Booth to see and study. We had a visit from a local school – where the children ask questions about birds eggs and were able to hold a Goldcrests egg – right up to the extinct egg of the Elephant Bird! For all lovers of Natural History especially birds… The Booth is a wonderful place with a vintage charm that places you right back to the days of the Victorian gentleman collector. Please support and visit whenever you can. enjoy…..
