Original field study drawing done in 1975 – (due to its age this original has slight foxing and age spots) Beautiful pen and ink and watercolour study of a Marsh Harrier chick by World famous artist Matthew Hillier. This was exhibited at one of the first exhibitions that he ever put on at the age of just 17yrs. Matthew was instantly recognised as a fine wildlife illustrator with super realistic works in watercolour and gouache. With his work highly collected he built on his fine reputation for superb life like studies. Jumping forward, in 1995, he won the World Wildlife Fund Fine Art Award. In 1998 he received The People’s Choice Award from The Florida Wildlife and Western Art Expo, and he has received The Society of Animal Artists’ Award of 1997, 1998 and 2002. Matthew now lives in Florida, USA. where he paints mainly in oils. Visit:
