A hand-painted distressed sculpture of a Cormorant sunning itself and drying out its wings after a fishing session. It is cut from lifesize outline sketches that capture the form and silhouette of this coastal bird. The sculpture is made from 2mm mild steel and has been hand-finished to give a unique rust and distressed appearance. This sculpture is ideal for the coastal garden scheme with its wonderful array of patinated colouring. The sculpture has been distressed using a wax which will help protect against the elements. The sculpture is fixed with a 6mm rod and is set into a circular post which has been stained to look like a breakwater groin giving maximum impact. After this final stage… a glass eye are added which brings the Cormorant to life. Each one is a one of a kind piece as the naturally patination cannot be achieved identically each time?
